RB Waiver Wire

Running backs are the most volatile position on waivers — handcuffs spike when starters get hurt, and week-to-week role changes make add timing critical.

RB Waiver Wire — FAQ

When should I add a Running Back from waivers?

Add Running Backs as soon as you identify the opportunity — most leagues process waivers Tuesday or Wednesday morning. Players spiking in add volume on Monday night are typically responding to injuries, role changes, or breakout performances in the previous game.

How are these RB waiver rankings calculated?

Rankings are based on 24-hour add volume across thousands of Sleeper leagues, updated every Tuesday. A sudden spike in adds is the strongest early signal that the fantasy community has identified a real opportunity.

Should I drop a Running Back to add a waiver pickup?

Only drop a Running Back if the waiver target has a clear path to consistent production — ideally a starting role, good upcoming matchups, and a high target/carry share. Don't drop your RB3 for a one-week fluke.

What is a handcuff RB and should I roster one?

A handcuff is the backup to a featured starter. In leagues with deep rosters, rostering your starter's handcuff protects you if the starter gets injured. In shallow leagues, it's often better to use that roster spot on upside plays.
