Matchup Grades FAQ

What do the fantasy matchup grades mean?

Each letter grade (A through F) reflects how many PPR fantasy points a defense allows to a specific position — QBs, RBs, WRs, and TEs — compared to the league average. An A is the best matchup (most points allowed), F is the worst.

How often are matchup grades updated?

Grades are updated weekly using cumulative season-to-date stats. Early in the season (weeks 1–4) they are less reliable as small sample sizes can skew results. By week 6 the grades stabilize and are very useful for lineup decisions.

Should I stream players against A-grade defenses?

Yes — matchup grade is one of the best streaming signals available. A WR3 against an A-grade pass defense often outperforms a WR2 against an F defense. Use this data alongside target share and snap count to identify the best streaming plays.

Which positions are most affected by matchup?

Tight ends and kickers are the most matchup-dependent positions. Running backs are least affected since most elite RBs get their carries regardless of scheme. Wide receivers fall in between — volume is more important than matchup for true WR1s.
